LARC's mission is to support persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in reaching their goals of self-sufficiency, quality of life and self-worth. LARC (Lafayette Association for Retarded Citizens) owns and operates Acadian Village. The village was created in the 1970's to be the fundraising arm of LARC.All money generated from Acadian Village activities (tours, weddings, photo shoots, baby/bridal showers, school field trips, crawfish boils, sales in General Store, Noel Acadien au Village, etc.) and fundraisers at Acadian Village benefit LARC!
LARC services include: Community Supports & Services, Residential Services & Vocational Services. For over 60 years, LARC has been dedicated to serving the needs of people in Acadiana's community with developmental disabilities and their families. Throughout LARC's existence, we have continually expanded to fully include the people we serve in the mainstream and workforce of the community. Today LARC served nearly 300 persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are proud to serve local residents and help them achieve their goals vocationally and in their personal lives. For more information about LARC, please visit www.lafayettelarc.org.
