FIELD TRIPS:
LARC’s Acadian Village offers several different options for field trips that include self-guided and guided tours with the option to add on workshop(s) (for an additional charge) to any guided field trip tour. How does it work? Typically, schools arrive in the morning around 10 AM and begin their tours. Many of our groups are subdivided into smaller groups if they are being given a guided tour to ensure every child has the most intimate experience. If booking a self-guided tour, expect it to last about an hour. If booking a guided tour, expect it to last about an hour and a half to two hours depending on the school size. There are benches & tables available to use, or feel free to sit under the enormous, shady oaks if having lunch on the grounds. After lunch, free time commences where students can enjoy the green space with school provided games or a good round of old fashioned tag! Students can also go shopping in the general store with adult supervision. We do ask that you keep the groups around 20 or less because the store is relatively small. Dismissal will follow all of the fun activities! About a week before the tour, someone from the administration office will get final head counts and send an invoice and itinerary for the field trip. Remember, all proceeds from this tour benefits LARC, our parent company, who help special needs adults in our community!
